The band was formed in 1992 in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland by Tim, Rick and Mark. As a 3-piece they released a mini-album, 'Trailer', and their debut LP '1977'. In 1997 they were joined by Charlotte, and recorded the title track to the film 'A Life Less Ordinary', and their second full-length record, 'Nu-Clear Sounds' (see the Discography for a listing of all the releases). They have also toured in many different countries and played at quite a few festivals, thus building up their fan base.
Ash are all in their late teens and early twenties, Charlotte being the youngest and Rick being the oldest. Whether or not their music reflects their age is difficult to say, but what can be said is that they are constantly improving.
