Event Review
In addition to my review - you can judge for yourself at micromusic thanks to sinusjog's MP3z!!
Even better than my site -
timokl has images
from the festival in addition to his own thoughts.
The Spitz proved easy to find and provided friendly service and not unreasonable value throughout the night. The evening consisted of live acts separated by conventional DJs playing lo-tech music. The night appeared to be slickly organised and even had graphical visuals for each of the acts.
Pippilina
Played a live set of avant garde euphoria starting the good vibe which
continued throughout the festival. I'm very glad Pippilina decided to make
the trip from the States to perform.
The Dead Guys
Looking like two south London rude boyz the Dead Guys provided professional sounding hard breakbeat music. Highlights included covers of some popular electro tracks. First appearances can be, and were, deceptive as the Dead Guys and turned out to be the Nice Guys in real life.
Droidboiler
Giving some respite after the Dead Guys, Mr Cucumber cooly played some of
his more relaxed microhitz - wearing a curious grin throughout.
Lektrogirl
With undoubtedly the best visuals Lektrogirl sat and operated her computer without emotion - as if she was word processing, making a very strong aesthetic statement. Songs Lektro' played included both micromusic, rephlex and other material.
Bodenstandig 2000
The lads gave a fine performance with obvious showmanship. Highlights included Bern playing his 'Boss Voice Transformer' like a guitar!! Top tunes from micromusic and 'Maxi German Rave Blast Hits 3' were played, but the show consisted mainly of unreleased music included a cool 'acieeeeed' track.
Psilodumputer
Micromusic's wonder boy gave a hectic fusion of beats and melodies, but maintaining dance floor sensibilities. Psilo's set induced me to make a fool of myself and dance in an insane gabba-tekno style, but rounded off the evening nicely.
Overall the best rave I've been to for months, and certainly the most friendly I've ever been to. Would I go again? You bet!!
